Nayra Sanz Fuentes a un diplôme en philologie hispanique. Elle a fait une partie de sa thèse de doctorat à Berlin et a fait une maîtrise en réalisation de films à New York. Elle a réalisé cinq courts métrages : Anniversary, Encounter, Things in Common, Yet Another Day et Sub Terrae. Son premier long métrage est As Old as the World.
